Heather Anderson-Fintak grew up in Las Vegas. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Management Major. After working for Bank of America for one year after graduation, Heather decided to return to school. She attended American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, DC. While in law school, Heather found her passion for helping those in need by successfully representing two refugees in asylum proceedings and also worked for the American Bar Association, Section for Individual Rights and Responsibilities on their death penalty moratorium report 2001 and international trial observer program.
After law school, Heather immediately accepted a position with the Legal Aid Bureau, Inc. (now Maryland Legal Aid). She was an advocate and staff attorney in the Southern Maryland office for approximately three years before joining Nevada Legal Services. Heather has been with Nevada Legal Services since August, 2005. She has been a staff attorney and senior attorney in the Las Vegas Office. Heather is now the pro bono coordinator, where she is in charge of assisting pro bono attorneys and clients. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Nevada, and the U.S. District Court of Nevada.
